I make two styles of Scottish Smallpipes, 'Standard Style' - which are the most popular - and 'Border Style'. Both carry the option of being made with either all Blackwood, Blackwood/Ivorine, or Blackwood/yellow wood mounts. All sets are made exclusively by myself from top quality African Blackwood with Nickel Silver metalwork and hide bags with a velvet outer cover. All sets are name stamped, delivered complete with bellows and set up ready to play 'out-of-the-box'. Sets can also be made to your individual specifications.

It is important to emphasise that the only difference between the two styles that I make is indeed 'stylistic'. That is to say that the difference lies in the style of the turning and decoration; the more expensive sets have additional ivorine or coloured wood mounts and a greater degree of sophistication in the turning of the wood. However, all sets regardless of the style are made with the same bores, the same reeds, and the same attention to detail and sound reproduction. The difference in prices does not in any way reflect a difference in sound quality between the styles.

Please Note: 'Border Style' are Scottish Smallpipes (cylindrical bore) with the turning style and decoration of my Lowland/Border Pipes (conical bore) which I no longer make.
